My Writing III Class

Writing III class has around 30 students, but the number is not the problem, the problem is the way to get study well. Writing is easy enough, but for me, it is so difficult to understand. It needs more skills and creativity. But, in this semester, I have try to get this subject. I learn,try and improve my writing, and then posted to the blog.
I would like to say thanks to my lecturer, Mr.ari, for teach me very well. But the problem, you often comes late. Not only the lecturer, the students often comes late too and I think it’s wasting much time. hope, next time, we’ll see you again, in other subject. Thanks

Reflection of Writing Class

I feel so glad when first time I met Mr. Ari in Writing Class. In semester three, he teaches us with full of happiness. Actually, I am happy he can teach us in this semester.

Mr. Ari is a smart lecturer. He can make the class becomes more interesting. He often makes a joke. He also entertains us with his innocent face. We can study his subject through the site. He asks us to make a blog which contains of works of writing.

Every human has disability, and as a man we should be able to change disability to ability. Mr. Ari is a good lecturer. But he is often confused when he is saying words. It can be a joke and makes us laugh. Many times, I cannot get the points what Mr. Ari said to me; maybe he should be improving his pronunciation and vocabulary.

In the end of this session, I want to give advice to Mr. Ari. Please, make us understand with your words. Mostly, Mr. Ari is a good lecturer in writing class. I would be glad if Mr. Ari can teach us again in next semester. Personally, I apologize if I am mistaken and if there are more mistakes. Thank you.

Evaluation of the Writing III

Writing is one of the English skills. Writing III in semester 3, the lectured by Mr. Ari Purnawan, M.Pd, M.A. it was very important for me, it was the first time I learn English writing by writing articles in blog. The work should be posted in www.classge.wordpress.com. I think it will be important in my future and I can follow that method in my writing class and enjoyed it.

I get many advantages and knowledge in this writing class. One of them I get more knowledge about how to write or make good sentences and good paragraph, beside that I can understand English text well. The lecture gives many assignments by writing some articles and uploads it in blog, it is very interesting for me to improve my writing skills, so I can go to the internet center regularly for uploaded the writing assignment. Secondly, I can give comment and suggestion about it and I know how to find some mistakes in my friend’s writing, so I should be able to correct it.

I also get some difficulties in this writing class. Any problems and disadvantages during follow writing III. I still find any troubles, sometimes if I write an article, sentences and paragraph, I do not know is my grammar, the structure and maybe the spelling of the words right. It is make me difficult to understand what the meaning and correct in my writing and I also still don’t understand how to post my assignment and comment in blog.

Finally, I hope after following Writing III class, I can be continued in the next semester. Thank you sir for the method you use,.. J

Reflection of My Writing III

Writing III was one of the subjects I took in the third semester in English Department. In the first meeting I didn’t come to the class so I didn’t know what the main focus in this subject. I thought this subject would focus on writing article, perhaps. Because, in the first semester writing focused on writing sentence(s) and then writing paragraph(s) was the main focus on the second semester. In my view, Writing III was very interesting. It is because students are introduced by new way that is writing in a blog which we made. Then, our lecturer gave some topics to write in that blog. I think that this subject gave the students to access and to explore the topics well, because the lecturer only gave short explanation before we write.

There are my opinion to this subject:

1. The lecturer just explained general mistakes in our writing class.

2. The lecturer should give comment(s) to all writing, so every student can repair and rewrite their writing.

3. I think the lecturer tried to make the students more active. In fact, not all students did what the lecturer’s want.

4. The students didn’t accept what the lecturer’s goal. It is because of the lecturer’s explanation is too general.

The advantages:

1. We got new way in writing, so we can share our writing whenever and wherever we want.

2. This class made us more confident.

3. We gave comment each other, so we can repair our writing. Besides that, this activity also increased our critical thinking. We had to look for some mistakes in our friends writing. In fact, there were some of my friends didn’t give comment to other friends’ writing. So some friends felt disappointed because they gave comment to others but there were no reaction, I mean the other friends didn’t give comment to others.

I hope the lecturer can be more clear in giving instruction and explanation in order to make communicative class. So, the students will get the ‘real’ knowledge and specific skills. Thank you.

Writing Class Activity

My opinion about the activity of writing class is very nice. This is the new kind of activity and different with other class activities. In this activity I can read my friend’s work and give a comment. My friend also can do the same to me. I think this is a good method for me to improve my confidence by showing my writing in the blog where anyone can access and read it.
I think there are a lot of advantages I get in this activity. As I said before, I get more confidence by showing my writing, although I still make some mistakes. This activity is able for me and my friends to share information. I haven’t use blog before; in this activity I learn how to use it. It is also important because using blog is very interesting. This activity become more interesting when I give a comment and so did my friends. After do it, we reply each other.
Beside those advantages, there are also weaknesses in this activity. I feel this weakness because I don’t have my own computer. I should go to my friend’s house or computer rental to type my writing before post it. I also should visit the blog often times to check the comments, because I must reply it.
However, this activity gives me more advantages then weaknesses. I hope my next reading class will do the same. Thanks for Mr. Arie who introduce me this new learning method.

Writing III is continuation of writing I and writing II. Writing III trains student to be able to make a good composition in writing. The study process of the writing III class is also very interesting because it is using internet to post the tasks. Every class has already had their own blogs. In this blog we can shows our writing or give comments of our friends writing. The teacher, Mr. Ari teach with very passion and fun. He will not continue the material he gave, if the result of each task he gave found a lot of mistakes. He also always discusses that mistakes together in the class so everyone know their own mistakes and fixed it.
Writing III class is very useful for us because it force us to keep practicing our writing skill until the students able to make a good composition. It will be very useful to us if we make our thesis later. The using of right of structural words or sentences is very stressed in this class so the student later on will be commonly used it every time. In this class I also get a lot of knowledge and a lot of new vocabulary.
The problem that I faced in this class is the feeling of lazy for going to the �warnet� to post the task and I also have problem with how to pour my ideas in the writing form especially in English, because of that I usually write in Indonesian firstly before I translated into English. That�s why maybe my writing is too short.
This class is very meaningful and useful for me. This class is like a practice of how to write a thesis. I also learn much new vocabularies in this class. Thank you Mr. Ari, thank you writing III

How to Study Well

I am sure that all of us as a student want to have good ways in the study. In order to reach the effective study we should have good ways to study well. There some ways to study well. They are: understanding the material, reading a lot, summarizing the material, choosing the best time to study, and making study group.
The first way is being understand the material. The main function of study is attempting to understand the material or new knowledge. The material that is memorized will be lost easy. It is different when we understand it; the material will be kept in our mind for a long time. We may memorize all the material in detail, but the important thing is whether we understand it or not. So before memorizing, it is better to understand it before.
The second is reading to much. Reading is the study key. If we want to understand the material, we should read it at least twice ad day; before and after our lecture explain it. Because our mind has process the material in three times, I am sure that we will easy to understand and the material will be kept in our mind for a long time.
The third is summarizing the material. Sometimes we have so many materials that should be learned. It makes us difficult to understand it. But, it can be solved by summarizing the material which cover the main point of the material. The short material which only contains the main point will make us understand it easier.
The fourth is choosing the best time to study. The best time to study is when our mind is fresh. We know that each people has the best time to study which is not same one to the other. But, generally in the morning is the best time to concentrate fully in the study because our mind is still fresh. Use this time to process the new material. The less of our energy can be use to repeat or evaluate our study and do the assignment.
The last is making a study group. If we are bored to study lonely, we can study together with our friends. But, we do not need lot friends because it will not be effective. Five people are maximal number in the study group. Make a distribution of the material parts to each person. Then, in turn each person must explain to the other. I am sure it will not be a boring study.
Those are all my ways to study well. I know that each person has his own ways to study because there are different characters of study in different people. But, some people have same character in the study. Maybe some of my ways are also good for you and you can try it to be applied into your study. Actually, there are still many other. But, here I only can present them. I hope you get successful in your study.
